Have you tried the Honeycomb stitch? I have wanted to try it for so long but I kept getting distracted. I finally tried it and loved how it looked!! It is a non-curling stitch that looks beautiful in any combination of colors. You can also use it as a border for your projects to keep them from curling!
Here is the front and back of a Tunisian Honeycomb Stitch swatch.
The hook
There are a bunch of different Tunisian crochet hooks available for purchase. You can read about the hooks I use here. Because of the nature of Tunisian crochet stitches, I recommend using a hook that is at least 2 sizes larger than the recommended hook on the yarn.
Curling
The fabric built with this stitch should not curl.

Photo Tutorial
This stitch is made up of a two row repeat. It works up very quickly and is made up of alternating Tunisian Simple Stitches and Tunisian Purl Stitches. You just need to remember one thing – All Simple stitches line up on top of Purl stitches and all Purl stitches line up on top of Simple stitches.
Forward pass (Row 1)
Step 1: The first stitch of the forward pass is the one that is on your hook. You do not have to do anything to make the first stitch.
Step 2: Identify the vertical bars of the next two stitches. Make a Tunisian Simple Stitch in the first one (indicated by the blue pin in the picture below) and a Tunisian Purl Stitch in the second one (indicated by the pink pin in the picture below).
Step 3: Identify the pairs of vertical bars all the way to the end of the row. Do this for all the stitches except for the last one: Make a Tunisian Simple Stitch and then a Tunisian Purl Stitch and repeat all the way to the end.
Step 4: To make the last stitch, find the two vertical bars of the last stitch of the previous row. Insert hook into both those bars, yarn over and pull through both the vertical bars on the hook. You can see a detailed explanation of this step in the Tunisian Simple Stitch tutorial.
Reverse Pass (Row 1)
This is the same as the reverse pass in the Foundation Row: Chain 1, yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook. Repeat this for all the loops on the hook until you have one loop on the hook.
Forward pass (Row 2)
Step 1: Identify the pairs of vertical bars all the way to the end of the row. Do this for all the stitches except for the last one: Make a Tunisian Purl Stitch and then a Tunisian Simple Stitch and repeat all the way to the end.
Note: The only difference between this row and the previous one is that the previous one starts with a Tunisian Simple Stitch and this one starts with a Tunisian Purl Stitch.
Reverse Pass (Row 2)
This is the same as the reverse pass in the Foundation Row: Chain 1, yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook. Repeat this for all the loops on the hook until you have one loop on the hook.
