Disha Shawl – Free crochet pattern!

I have always known of the Moss Stitch but I never used it in my designs. I have always wanted to make a shawl like this and it seemed like the Moss Stitch was the perfect choice for this shawl. The Disha Shawl is my mindless, happy project – once I figured out the repeats, it was super easy to make! 🙂 This is also my first pattern collaboration with Clover USA!

The Yarn and the Hook

This shawl is made with one Scheepjes Whirl (Passion Fruit Melt) and about one and three quarters Scheepjes Whirlettes (Rose). This is my third project with this yarn and it is a joy to work with. I love how it feels and how easy it is to work with. I feel that this yarn is perfect for this project because of the color changes in the Whirl since the pattern itself can get a bit monotonous. I found myself excited to get to the next color change and then the next and then the next 🙂

I made this shawl with a 4.00 mm Clover Amour hook. I splurged on these hooks last year and I am so glad that I did. Since I received them, I have not used any other hook. They are easy on my hands and wrists and I can crochet for much longer than I could before.

The Stitch

I have always admired projects made with the Moss Stitch and I wanted to use it to design a shawl pattern. This shawl is entirely made up of the Moss Stitch – so, all you need to know is how to make chains and single crochet stitches!
