Madhu Blanket TCAL – Week 6

This is the last week of the Madhu TCAL! I loved seeing all of your blankets coming to life and I hope you enjoyed making them as much as I enjoyed making mine 🙂

The aim for this week is to complete the blanket – you only have to make the two larger borders this week!.

Pattern

You can find the pattern on Ravelry and Etsy. You need to use the coupon MADHUTCAL to get a 15% discount on the pattern until October 28, 2019.

Week 5 – Parts B1 and B2

This week we are going to work on the two larger borders and then the final border that is worked all around the blanked. The technique for the longer borders is exactly the same as the shorter borders from last week. The larger borders are made directly on the honeycomb section and on the shorter borders. You will have to skip some stitches when you make the first row of both borders.

Here are a few things you need to know:
1. The stitches in the longer borders are made by skipping some stitches from the edge of Part A and Parts B1 and B2. This is because when you work overlay stitches, they pull and bunch the fabric. This part has been tested by all my testers so you should not run into any issues but I would like you to make sure that you check the width of your border after you make a few rows to make sure that the border isn’t wider or narrower than the length of the blanket (Parts A, B1 and B2 combined).
2. The borders use Tunisian Overlay Double Crochet stitches. The following two tutorials will be helpful before you start working on the borders:
