Tunisian Crochet Tutorial – Changing color 3 ways

There are three ways that you can change color in Tunisian crochet:

  1. At the beginning of the Forward Pass
  2. At the beginning of the Return Pass
  3. In the middle of a row

In this tutorial, I will walk you through all three ways of changing color. I have two separate tutorials for the first two techniques if you’d like to take a look. These tutorials are older and I have learnt a lot since then. While the older videos are not incorrect, the video in this tutorial is the latest and shows how I like to do it now.

The hook

There are a bunch of different Tunisian crochet hooks available for purchase. You can read about the hooks I use here. Because of the nature of Tunisian crochet stitches, I recommend using a hook that is at least 2 sizes larger than the recommended hook on the yarn.

Video Tutorials

I have right and left handed video tutorials for this stitch on my Youtube channel. You can find all my Tunisian crochet video tutorials here.
