I love the response that my blanket collection has received so far, thank you! And now, to share the third blanket in my textured Tunisian crochet stitch blanket series with you all – the Mihir Blanket! If you’ve enjoyed making the Roshan and Aditya Blankets, you’ll definitely love this one too.
Just like the previous blankets, the Mihir Blanket is designed to be simple and straightforward, by making the most of two basic Tunisian crochet stitches. I feel that it’s perfect for beginners and experienced crocheters alike. With just two stitches, you’ll create a beautiful texture, and a blanket or lap rug that feels amazing to the touch.

The Yarn
In crafting Mihir, the third blanket in the collection, I opted for the versatile and reliable Pound of Love by Lion Brand Yarn once again. This time, I chose the enchanting shade of Straw, which adds a touch of timeless elegance to the design.
The softness of this yarn range really shows off the unique qualities of the two Tunisian crochet stitches used for this design. With its excellent stitch definition, it makes the finished textured blanket warm and inviting.
The color palette offered by Pound of Love yarn provides endless possibilities for personalization, making your creation a true reflection of your own style.

How to Avoid Curling
Say goodbye to the frustration of curling with the beginner-friendly Mihir Blanket pattern! Understanding that curling is a common challenge in Tunisian crochet projects, I’ve designed this easy pattern with a built-in solution.
By strategically using the Reverse Tunisian crochet stitch, I’ve created a beginner-friendly textured blanket that naturally resists curling. This way, you can enjoy a smooth and flat blanket without the need for additional borders or adjustments. Just follow the pattern, and you’ll be on your way to a beautifully finished, curl-free blanket!
If you have projects where you are struggling with curling, check out this post where I discuss different ways to deal with curling in Tunisian crochet!

This Tunisian crochet stitch blanket is perfect for beginners because it requires very few supplies and is easy to learn. To get started, you’ll need a Tunisian crochet hook and yarn. Then, you’ll need to know only two easy Tunisian crochet stitches to create the blanket – in your desired size.
Just like the Roshan and Aditya blanket crochet patterns, this Tunisian crochet blanket features one single color, letting the stitches do the work. My priority with this one was to enjoy the relaxing process of mindfulness when hooking a blanket. So, this Tunisian crochet blanket intentionally has no color changes or detailed instructions.

Experience Level
Easy – The pattern expects basic knowledge of starting and ending a Tunisian crochet project and how to make Tunisian Knit and Reverse Stitches.
Gauge
13 rows of 12 stitches in the center stitch pattern make a 4 inch square (blocked).
Gauge is not important in this pattern, you can use any yarn you like with an appropriate hook and the pattern will not change.
However, keep in mind that the size of your blanket will vary depending on your style of crocheting and tension.
Sizing And Adjustments
This crochet pattern is written for a 35” x 34” (89 cm x 86 cm) blanket but it is easily adjustable.
To adjust height: Add / remove rows in multiples of 10
To adjust width: Add / remove stitches in multiples of 10
You could make an afghan, lap rug, baby blanket or throw with this sure to be popular Tunisian crochet blanket pattern! All you need to do is change up the size.

Blocking
As this crochet pattern uses two different basic Tunisian crochet stitches, it is highly recommended to block the blanket before use.
Steam blocking has been found to be the most suitable method for acrylic yarn; therefore, my blanket was stretched, pinned to a blocking board, and then steam blocked.

I love this blanket! I made it to a size for my husband's wheelchair and he really likes it. The best part is the no-curl borders. I will use this border one all of my Tunisian blankets and kitchen towels. It is really lovely. I can't wait to make the other blankets, but I'm still working on the Zuri squares!
