It All Begins With a Magic Circle
At the heart of crochet in the round is the magic circle, also known as a magic loop, magic ring, or adjustable ring. No matter what you call it, the idea is the same—you’re creating a secure circle of stitches to build from. Starting this way makes your rounds neat, tight, and professional looking, without the gap you sometimes get from chaining and joining. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll notice that almost every in-the-round project feels easier and more polished right from the start. From hats and motifs to bags and blankets, this simple step unlocks endless possibilities.
